More information about Walking Tours of London:
Looking for things to see in London? Take a tour
My name’s Alex Kidd, an independent tour guide. If you are planning to see London on foot – the best way to see the capital – join me on a tour through the heart of the metropolis. I was born and brought up in London and, over the years, I’ve built up an extensive knowledge of the geography and history of the capital. Walking around and learning about the city has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. My imagination has been stirred by frequent forays through London’s vast network of streets, squares and parks.

I’m also passionate about British history – I have completed an MA in this subject – and in no place is our history better documented than on the streets of London. The city has been a ceaseless source of excitement and intrigue. To see London, as Dr Johnson said, is to see ‘as much of life as the world can show’. For this very reason, London can be a daunting place for visitors – it can also be rather expensive! I have lived, worked and studied in London and would like to voluntarily share this experience and knowledge, and take you on a tour that will, at the very least, introduce you to our great buildings, monuments and public spaces. It is my aim to leave you feeling more confident and relaxed on your visit to this vast, exhilarating 2000 year old metropolis. I love London and want others to enjoy this great city too. To quote that great London chronicler once more, ‘When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford’.
